VIJAYAWADA: In a bid to create awareness about Digital India, the pet project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and how it could help to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas, how one can generate more industrial opportunities thereby creating more job opportunities, and other such issues, Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF), in Vijayawada, is organising a seminar on ‘Digital India’ on December 5.
DGP JV Ramudu and police commissioner D Gautam Sawang will be guests of honour and would be speaking on ‘Cyber Security’. The seminar which is being organised with an objective to explain how the programme intends to empower Indian citizens and enhance their quality of life and how the industry could benefit from Digital India initiative (new revenue streams, new business models etc) and hurdles in the form of cyber security threats, will be having two panel discussions on two important issues related to Digital India.
While one panel will be discussing ‘New business and employment opportunities’ with Digital India initiative, the other will be debate ‘Building secure India: Preparing for secure and safe India’. Panelists include Hari Prasad, member of e Governance Authority, AP Government; P Bhaskar Rao, APCCIF Executive Director; Sachin Tummala, MD, Corpus Investment Group; Ravi Muppirala, CEO, MD Entrerprises, US; Ravi Prakash A, Regional Director, Beyond Security Inc; and Ranjeet Mishra, CEO, Atlantis Analytics, Cyber Security.
The DGP will be speaking on ‘Cyber Security and Safety Challenges in the era of Digital India, while police commissioner D Gautam Sawang will speak on ‘How to prepare for Digital Vijayawada: Cyber security initiatives by police’.
APCCIF president elect M Murali Krishna told media persons, on Thursday that they wanted to have larger public participation in the seminar as it is meant to create awareness about the transition of the existing system into a more digital one in the near future. “Already we are witnessing the trend with government services increasingly becoming digital. The very objective of Digital India is e Governance. There will be some apprehensions among the people, about how it could benefit them, will there be any disadvantages. The seminar would be discussing those issues and make an attempt to clarify such doubts,” he explained.
APCCIF’s youth wing – NextGen convener G Prasanna Kumar said digital transactions have an advantage of being faster, easier and transparent. “Digital India is a visionary concept and it gives way for creating more business opportunities and there by jobs,” he said. APCCIF Executive Director P Bhaskar Rao said: “Digital India is as important a project as railways, road and communication network.”
