#ISRAELIAGRICULTURE ON ITS WAY TO CHINA
#Chinesefarmers will gain Israeli agriculture know-how thanks to a new #agreementsigned today, the first day of the #Agritech2018exhibition.
The Research and Development Center for the Middle and Northern areas of #Arava signed on Tuesday a unique agreement with Beijing-based Eisenberg Agri Company, the Arava center reported in a press release.
Chinese farmers will learn new technologies and problem solving methods developed in the Arava conditions. Arava Research and Development researchers will also aid in the creation of an Agro-Park to be built in China.
The #agreement was signed by #TongzhuYang, the mayor of #Dongying, which is a city in Shandong province in coastal East – #China.
The agreement was signed on the first day of the 20th International Agricultural Technology Exhibition now taking place in Tel Aviv until May 10.
#ShmulikFridman, the manager of the Middle and #NorthAravaResearch and Development Center, said that “this is a very moving and very important event that will allow our researchers to continue to be good ambassadors for Israel around the world.”

Implementation of the advanced technologies in agriculture – this is the main focus of the agricultural exhibition “Agritech-2018”
It is expected that this year, 50 thousand visitors, including agrarians from Ukraine, will be acquainted with Israel’s top achievements in agriculture. More than 50 governmental delegations will participate in this year’s largest specialized exhibition event in the Middle East, including a Ukrainian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva.
On May 8, in the framework of the exhibition, with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, a seminar devoted to cooperation between Ukraine and Israel in the agro-industrial sphere was held.

#IsraelInnovationAuthority, State of #Indiana Sign Deal To Support #Agritech #R&DInitiatives
May 9, 2018 | The Israel Innovation Authority and the state of Indiana announced they had signed an economic cooperation agreement this week to strengthen ties between Israel and Indiana and promote technological R&D initiatives and cooperation in agriculture and life science fields. The agreement was signed by Dr. Ami Applebaum, Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry and Chairman of the Israel Innovation Authority and Eric Holcomb, the governor of the state of Indiana. The agreement, which was signed as part of the 20th Agritech Israel Conference in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, May 9, will be supported financially by the Israel Innovation Authority and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC.) Governor Holcomb was a guest of honor at the conference and is visiting Israel for the first time. “Hoosiers (Indiana residents) are proud of the rich friendship we’ve developed with the State of Israel, and the MOU we’ve signed today takes this partnership to the next level. Indiana and Israel are tech and agbioscience powerhouses, and there are abundant opportunities for academic exchanges, mutual investment and cross-collaboration between our two economies,” he said in a statement. Indiana’s economy is one of leading ones in the US, with a strong manufacturing industry. The state exports $100 million worth of goods per year to Israel and imports a similar amount.
