Longevity: Genetics and Epigenetics

Is it genetics? Life style? The environment?  These and other questions will be addressed in the Longevity: Genetics and Epigenetics track on May 25.  There is no denying that longer life expectancy is swelling the number of seniors—people over age 65—in our population. This is the fastest-growing subset of age group that is the most interesting for researchers. Scientific breakthroughs may help us live long despite ourselves. Science is slowly unraveling the secrets of the centenarians, as scientist are trying to figure out which genetic, environmental and behavioral factors contribute to longevity, and potentially offer answers which may affect our “due date”.
