Цифровая медицина: новые изобретения израильтян

Производство электронных медицинских приборов стало одной из перспективных отраслей израильского хай-тека. В 2016 году местные фирмы, создающие их, привлекли 183 миллиона долларов в свои разработки. Это следует из отчета компании «Start-UP national central», который был представлен в преддверии открытия израильской технологической конференции Mixiii Biomed 2017. В нашей стране она будет проводиться с 23 по 25 мая этого года, уже в 16-й раз, в тель-авивском отеле David Intercontinental — при поддержке Министерства экономики и Управления инноваций.

183 миллиона долларов — сумма относительно небольшая, ведь общий объем инвестиций, привлеченных в израильские технологии в том же 2016 году, составил 4.8 млрд. долларов, и 800 миллионов из них были направлены именно в то, что называется науками о жизни, life science — медицину, антропологию, биологию, фармацевтику и социологию. Но все же это на 30% больше, чем в 2015 году. К тому же как правило для создания новых измерительных приборов или информационных систем не требуется особо больших влияний — в отличие, например, от создания новых лекарств или каких-то особо сложных медицинского оборудования. К тому же сама отрасль относительно молода, так что речь идет о вполне весомой сумме с тенденцией роста.

Издание Globes указало на некоторые израильские компании, которым удалось привлечь инвестиции. Венчает список MedCPU, получившая 35 миллионов долларов на технологию, которая должна помочь врачам принимать решения в режиме реального времени, без отрыва от действий и процедур, которые в это время они проводят с пациентом. Эта система аккумулирует данные из множества источников, сочетает их с последними инструкциями местного регулятора, сопоставляет между собой стандартные медицинские процедуры и, таким образом, как бы подсказывает врачу, насколько идеален уход, получаемый тем или иным больным. Деньги в старт-ап вложила, в том числе, и американская сеть больниц UPMC.

Другой успешный израильский страт-ап — Earlysense — получила 25 миллионов долларов за систему, которая встроена в кресло или кровать пациента. Она способна распознать ухудшение здоровья своего владельца и уведомить об этом врача.

Simplee привлекла 20 миллионов долларов в мае 2016 года в развитие своей платформы медицинских платежей, объединяющей пациента, то есть покупателя, с врачами, поставщиками услуг и лекарств, структурами, финансирующими лечения, она также совмещена с калькуляторами. Деньги в эту платежную платформу вложили 83North, Heritage Group и American Express Ventures. То есть это финтек , но для медицины, и Simplee уже сейчас работает в 900 больницах и медицинских группах, ей пользуются до 5 миллионов пациентов, а общий объем рынка тут оценивается в 330 млрд. долларов, таковы глобальные затраты пациентов на здравоохранение — это даже больше, чем люди платят сегодня в интернете, то есть направление чрезвычайно перспективное, а собственно через созданную в 2013-м году израильтянами платформу Simplee Financial Engagement проводится около 1 миллиарда долларов в год.

20 миллионов получили от китайцев создатели рубашки Healt Watch, следящая за сердечным ритмом человека и призванная предотвратить инфаркт. А старт-ап LifeBEAM вложил те же функции по замеру пульса в велосипедный шлем — и получил ровно год назад, в марте 2016 года, 16 миллионов долларов, идея приглянулась сразу нескольким фондам, в том числе Square Peg Capital, Wellborn VC, Cerca Partners, Atomic14 VC, Triventures VC и еще нескольким частным инвесторам-«ангелам». Несомненный успех, если вспомнить, что самую первую сумму, 50 тысяч долларов для начала работ, инициаторы этого старт-апа собрали через систему «киктрэкер».

Успешных проектов много, львиная доля инвестиций, около 32% в этой отрасли, приходится на разработку новых систем анализа данных — этим в Израиле заняты сегодня более 80 старт-апов. Другое направление, которое сегодня интересует инвесторов — системы, позволяющие координировать работу сразу многих медицинских учреждений, 30% инвестиций пришлось на разработки в этой сфере. 25% вложений, то есть 46 млн. в 2016 году, получили фирмы, разрабатывающие датчики, следящие за состоянием здоровья пациентов, таких фирм в Израиле уже более 170-ти.

Manufacture of electronic medical devices has become one of the most promising sectors of the Israeli high-tech. The local companies that create them, have attracted sponsorship of $183 million in its development in 2016 according to a report issued by Start-Up National Central ahead of the MIXiii BIOMED 2017 conference and exhibition in Israel, which will take place in Tel Aviv, May 23-25, at the David InterContinental hotel – with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation Management.

$ 183 million – the amount is relatively small compated to the total amount invested in the Israeli technology in 2016 (4.8 billion dollars, and 800 million of them were directed at what is called the life sciences –  Medicine, anthropology, biology, pharmacy and sociology). But this amount is still 30% higher than in 2015. In addition, as a rule the creation of new instruments for measurement and information systems does not require a particularly large investment – unlike, for example, the creation of new drugs or some complex medical equipment. In addition, the industry itself is relatively young, so we are talking about quite a significant increase of the amount.

The Globes pointed to some Israeli companies that have managed to attract investment. In the top list as a first is MedCPU company, which received 35 million dollars for technology that should help physicians to make decisions in real-time, during the routine activities and procedures spent with the patients. This system accumulates data from multiple sources, combines them with the latest instructions and compares with standard medical procedures/protocols, by monitoring the care/result for each of the patients. The investments in the start-up includes also the American UPMC, a company with a chain of hospitals.

Another successful Israeli start-up – Earlysense – received 25 million dollars for a system that is built into the seat or on the patient’s bed. It is able to detect the deterioration of the health of its owner and notify the physician.

Simplee  attracted $ 20 million in investments in May 2016 for the development of its medical payments platform, that allow uniting the patient (the buyer), with the doctors, providers of medical services and medicines (pharmacies), also with the structures that are funding the treatments, and it is also combined with a calculator. The money in this payment platform was invested by 83North, Heritage Group and American Express Ventures. Currently Simplee operates in 900 hospitals and medical groups and is used by up to 5 million patients. ,The overall size of the market is estimated at 330 billion dollars (the global costs of patients that they spend for health services). This is even more than they people pay today on the Internet, that is very promising direction, and actually the money flow through it (the Simplee Financial Engagement platform created by Israelis)  was about $ 1 billion in 2013/a year.

A start-up LifeBEAM used the same functions for measurement of the pulse in a bicycle helmet – and it was exactly one year ago, in March 2016. They received 16 million dollars, the idea attracted several funds, including Square Peg Capital, Wellborn VC, Cerca Partners, Atomic14 VC, Triventures VC and several private investors called “angels.” An undoubted success, if we remember (the very first amount of 50 thousand dollars to get started) got the initiators of this start-up collected “kick tracker” system.

There are lots of successful projects, and the biggest share of investments (about 32% in this sector) is used for development of new data analysis systems – in Israel today there are more than 80 start-ups in this field. Another trend, which today interests investors – is a system that allows the coordination of work between many medical institutions. About 30% of the investments have been used for development in this field. 25% of investments, that is 46 million has been received in 2016 by companies, developing sensors that monitor the condition of patients’ health. Right now there are more than 170 companies in this field in Israel.
